Huge 19th century chateau near Calais

This property is located between Calais and Lille, not far from a access to a motorway, in a village, near all shops and services. It features a 19th century chateau with an outbuilding set on 4.2 ha (10.4 acres) of landscaped grounds crossed by a river.

Built before 1847, with brick, stone and a slate and zinc roofing, the chateau was modified in 1890 to give the current layout. It offers 4 levels plus the cellars, has a rectangular shape (23 × 19 mt.) and is in very good exterior and interior condition. With a developed surface of 1,500 sq. mt. (16,140 sq. ft.) the chateau offers 25 main rooms. The frontages offer numerous 19th century typical ornaments: skylight, carved bull's-eye window, twin windows, balcony with balusters, arched pediment, etc.

On the garden level (the base level) the main entrance opens onto a majestic staircase with balusters that gives access to the reception level. The impressive entrance hall, with marble floor and wooden ceilings with apparent joist, is supported by columns and the high walls are covered by different marble panels separated by pilasters.

Technical rooms are also found on this level (boiler room, laundry, cellars, cold room, etc.) A secondary staircase leads into all the levels including the attic.

The 2nd floor offers 3 beautiful series of linked reception rooms (60, 45 and 37 sq. mt. - 646, 484 and 398 sq. ft.) with parquet floor, finely sculpted wainscottings, stone or marble monumental fireplaces with overmantel, « à la Française » ceilings, coffered ceilings or moulded staffs, an access to a charming balcony with balusters facing the park and an access to a terrace in a second dining room. The biggest room is converted into a suite. The 4th level, luminous and accessible by the secondary staircase, corresponds to the converted attic: it offers 7 bedrooms to be restored on 330 sq. mt. The property includes also a big outbuilding accessible from the exterior thanks to a porch.
