Rare listed 16th century chateau in the Nord department
This property is located less than
300 km (185 miles) from Paris, London and Brussels, near Calais and
Eurotunnel, a few kilometres from an access to a motorway and near a village. It
features a listed 16th century chateau, surrounded by water-filled moats, with
outbuildings set on 5.5 ha (13.6 acres) of grounds, including 1 ha
(2.5 acres) of building land.
 |
The chateau is framed by 4 octagonal towers,
surrounded by water-filled moats and its U-shape delimits a small courtyard. |
A feudal mansion was already here during the 14th century. It was
modified at the end of the 16th century to give the current chateau. Made of
brick and stone, with a slate roof, the building is U-shaped, flanked by 4 octagonal
towers and surrounded by water-filled moats. The frontages are in good
condition, but part of the roof has to be redone. The chateau is built on 3 levels
of around 400 sq. mt (4,306 sq. ft.) each, plus a total
underground floor, hence offering over 1 200 sq. mt. (12 910 sq. ft.)
of total interior space. Recently, partial interior renovation has been
undertaken.
