century castle between Saint-Étienne and Le Puy, in the Haute-Loire
DepartmentThis chateau is located 500 km (310 miles) away from Paris, 100 km (62 miles) south-west of Lyon, in a hamlet of a beautiful hilly area at an altitude of 800 m (2 600 ft.) near the stunning Auvergne volcanos. This renovated chateau with several outbuildings is set on 3 ha (7.4 acres) of wall-enclosed landscaped grounds dominating the surroundings.

The chateau was built in 1820 by a noble Italian who had been seduced by this attractive landscape. It is made of granite with a slate roof and has been restored in 1996. It is therefore in good condition and provides 600 sq. mt. (6 460 sq. ft.) of living space on 4 levels, plus the underground.
The ground floor includes an entrance with a staircase, a huge reception room (100 sq. mt., 1 076 sq. ft.), a billiard room, a dining room and a kitchen. |

The 1st floor distributes the master's suite with a large living room with fireplace, a dining room, a small kitchen, a study and a large bedroom with bathroom. The 2nd floor offers 4 bedrooms and a bathroom whereas the 3rd floor includes 2 small bedrooms with washbasins.
The basement features the ancient kitchen, a wine cellar, storerooms and the boiler room (oil central heating). The chateau is equipped with double-glazing, electric shades and a new wiring.
The outbuildings consist of a vast barn (250 sq. mt., 2 690 sq. ft.) with garages, a stable with 5 stalls, an orangery and a dovecote. A large building with 4 levels (100 sq. mt., 1 076 sq. ft. per level), which provided accommodations for the staff, can be converted into guests' rooms.

The 3 ha (7.4 acres) of landscaped grounds are fully walled and boast many century-old trees and 2 meadows for horses.
