Sold Prestigious chateau in the Gothic Troubadour style, overlooking the Cher valley

The 12 ha (30 acres) estate is located 3 h from Paris by motorway and less than an hour from Clermont-Ferrand airport. Set on a prominent knoll- top, the chateau itself enjoys panoramic views towards the distant foothills of the Massif Central.

Southern side of the chateau
The southern side of the chateau overlooks the valley of the Cher.

The original 16th century manor was converted in the 1920's into the present stately residence using honey-coloured local stone with distinctive mullion windows, steeply pitched roofs, soaring chimneys and pepperpot towers.

Northside of the chateau
The northside of the chateau overlooks the courtyard and the outbuildings.

The rear façade, shaded by three majestic limes, overlooks the courtyard, secured within curtain walls, the staff house and the timber-framed garage block, which faces back towards the main building. White, fan-tailed inhabitants of a 16th century dovecote take wing to welcome visitors entering through the main portal. On the chateau's southside a parapeted terrace runs in front of the main reception suite, providing a sheltered environment to enjoy views and fine weather from the shade of a central pergola overgrown with roses and honeysuckle.
