Prestigious chateau
in the Gothic Troubadour style, overlooking the Cher valley The staff house provides a spacious and well appointed ground floor including a large living room, 2 bedrooms, bath and rear kitchen. Live-in staff consists of a full time groundskeeper/caretaker and his wife who cleans and cooks.
The garage block is entered by a single door giving access to a storage room communicating with the adjoining garage space. Three double doors permit vehicle access. From the storage room a staircase rises to the first floor with 7 storage rooms over the garage - which could be converted back to accommodation - and a large loft over the adjoining staff house. Behind this block a contiguous square building houses a double box and saddle room.
|
The outbuildings to the north of the garage block provide a garage and storage space, an attic, a tool shed, three loose boxes and an independent storage hangar. Next to it stands a 50 sq. mt. (540 sq. ft.) modern greenhouse. A guest house at the property's Eastern boundary, some 350 mt. (400 yd.) from the chateau, consists of 5 rooms with a small independent barn. |
The courtyard shaded by three splendid limes also boasts a square bed of red Polyantha roses and a long bed of Southamptons bounded by miniature box hedges. The kitchen wing, garage block and connecting curtain wall are covered with Virginia Creeper, and twin rows of pruned limes skirt the West-facing parapet and North-facing low crenelated wall overlooking a partial moat.

Gardens provide a verdant oasis of vibrant color. Outside the main portal, lawns descend to a large azalea and ornamental tree-ringed pond, flanked by a rhododendron and heather garden.
The main lawn is planted with 60 year old round-clipped box bushes, with the hornbeam arbour on the right, and a semi-circular privet hedge at its furthest extremity separating it from the 3 acre (1.2 ha) park consisting mainly of young oak and lime. It is planted with hundreds of daffodils.
